It is also written in the Bhagavad Gita… Why did Telangana CM say this after bulldozer action on superstar Nagarjuna’s building

After the bulldozer action on an ‘N-Convention Center’ co-owned by Telugu film superstar Nagarjuna, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy said that his government will not spare those who encroach on lakes, even if they are influential in the society. Revanth Reddy quoted the Bhagavad Gita and said that he is only following the teachings of Lord Krishna.

At a programme of the ‘Hare Krishna Movement’, Revanth Reddy said that he would follow the teachings of Lord Krishna, who teaches that one must follow Dharma for the welfare of the people and fight to defeat Adharma. He justified the demolition action on the N-Convention Centre co-owned by superstar Nagarjuna.

The Telangana government’s Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), town planning, irrigation and revenue departments on Saturday removed encroachments in the full tank level (FTL)/buffer area of the lake. The unauthorised structures removed included the N-Convention Centre co-owned by Nagarjuna.

A government release said that ‘N-Convention’ was constructed in the ‘Full Tank Level’ (FTL)/buffer area and does not have any construction permission.

“That is why despite pressures, even though (some of our) friends have farmhouses, HYDRAA was created (to protect lakes and government properties). I want to do something good for the people by being a part of it. Our only aim is to free these lakes from encroachers. We will take strict action against encroachment. Though there are pressures, we will not back down and will remove these encroachments,” Chief Minister Reddy said.

He also said that some farmhouses built near lakes release sewer water into drinking water sources such as Gandipet, which supplies drinking water to parts of the city. He said that if he fails to protect the interests of the lakes and the people, he would not be a true public representative.
