Under the Janani Shishu Suraksha Program, expanding the free sonography facilities, e-Rupi facility is being started, through which sonography of pregnant women coming to government health institutions will be free in identified private sonography centers.

On August 9, that is today, on the occasion of the Extended Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan, the e-Rupi model will be launched from the capital’s Dr. Kailashnath Katju Women’s Hospital. The private sonography center registered under the PCPNDT Act in the district will provide free sonography facilities to pregnant women sent from government health institutions.
The registered private sector sonography centres will be paid through digital payment method after sonography. District Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari said that consent has been taken from the registered private sector sonography centres to do sonography of pregnant women. Sonography of pregnant women referred from government hospitals will be done free of cost.
