West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has challenged the Central Government on Special Incentive Revision or SIR. He has said that SIR will not be allowed to be implemented in Bengal. Mamta said that West Bengal is different. CM also said that Bengal is kept apart from the discussions on SIR. Officials are being called to meetings and threatened.<\/p>\n

Challenging Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Mamta said that there are people from different communities here, let’s see how you remove the voters. Mamta said that they were able to do this in Bihar because there is an NDA government in Bihar and the agencies there helped in this. But the community structure of Bengal is completely different. Apart from Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians, there are also Scheduled Castes, Tribes and other minority communities. NRC notices have already been sent to minority groups- migrant labourers.<\/p>\n

Mamta called SIR fake<\/h3>\n

He said that SIR is a kind of fraud. The public is not included in this, rather some officials are called to meetings and threatened and the state government is completely kept out of these discussions. There are many complaints against the CEO of West Bengal, which I will disclose at the right time but I hope he will not overreact. He has been threatening many officers.<\/p>\n

Attempt to remove name under the guise of SIR<\/h3>\n

The Chief Minister said that under the guise of SIR, efforts are being made to remove the names of real voters. How can the Assam government send information to the voters of Bengal? How can a Union Minister announce the deletion of names of 1.5 crore voters even before the SIR begins? We expect impartiality from the Election Commission. Both the ruling party and the opposition together weave the fabric of democracy. He said that the pillars of democracy are the Constitution and the common people.
