OneCard has recently issued a big alert to its customers. In this, people have been cautioned with a new fraud named Whatsapp Screen Mirroring Fraud. Many people have fallen victim to this fraud because most do not know about it. If you get caught in this trap, then your bank account can be empty, your personal information can be stolen.<\/p>\n

What is Whatsapp Screen Mirroring Fraud?<\/h2>\n

According to OneCard, in this scam, fraudster fraudulently starts screen sharing on WhatsApp. As soon as the screen sharing is on, the thugs see all the sensitive information like your OTPS, bank details, passwords and messages.<\/p>\n

How does this fraud work?<\/h2>\n

  1. Reliance- <\/strong>The scammer describes itself as an employee of a bank or a financial company. He says that there is any problem in your account and asks you to share the screen. Fraud starts from here.<\/li>\n
  2. beginning- <\/strong>The thug explains to you step-by-step how to turn on screen-sharing. Then makes the excuse that he does not see the screen clear. He then asks you to start a Whatsapp video call.<\/li>\n
  3. Fraud- <\/strong>As soon as you do screen-sharing, the thug live starts watching the screen of your mobile. Then he makes a transaction a verification. As soon as you enter OTP or PIN, that information goes directly to the thug.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Second method – Keyboard Logger<\/h2>\n

    Sometimes the scammer installs the Malware app named Keyboard Logger in your phone. It records every typing of yours. For this reason, many banks give websites on-screen keyboard so that the logger does not get your typing. In this way, your bank password, social media password can be stolen.<\/p>\n
