Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a tour of his Tamil Nadu. Today is the second day of his visit. PM Modi reached Ariyalur by helicopter. After this, he attended the 1000th birth anniversary celebrations of the great Chola Emperor Rajendra Chola I with the Adi Thiruvathirai Festival at Gangaakonda Cholpuram Temple in Tamil Nadu. He also worshiped at Gangaakonda Cholpuram temple.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Modi prayed in the temple between Vedic and Shaiva Thirumurai chanting. PM Modi brought a punished urn. It is said that there is holy water of the Ganges river. On coming to the temple of the Prime Minister, the priests of the temple welcomed him with Purna Kumbham. The Prime Minister accepted the greetings to the people at the Gangaakonda Cholpuram temple.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister offered prayers in the temple<\/h3>\n

PM was seen revolving around the premises of the temple wearing a white shirt and the throat around the neck. This temple is a heritage site of UNESCO. On this special occasion, the Prime Minister offered prayers in the temple and paid tribute to Emperor Rajendra Chola. He said that Rajendra Chola has been a symbol of strategic force and cultural prosperity not only in Tamil Nadu, but all over India. Rajendra Chola I is counted among the great rulers. He extended from South India to South East Asia.<\/p>\n
