The pace of raising funds in the Indian stock market in the June 2025 quarter has shocked everyone. There has been a tremendous boom in the amount raised through bulk and block deals (B&B). According to data from Ecuerus Capital, Rs 1.7 lakh crore was raised in this quarter, which is 118.9% more than the previous quarter. However, this figure has increased just 3.3% compared to the same quarter of last year. Overall, the amount raised from all the routes like B&B, IPO, QIP and Rights Issues was Rs 2.2 lakh crore, which is 103.5% from the previous quarter and 10.8% more than last year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Raunak returned to the market, investors’s trust increased<\/b><\/h2>\n

Bhavesh Shah, managing director and investment director of Ecuerus Capital, says, “The speed of raising funds in this quarter is directly connection with passion returned to the secondary market.” The trust of investors in the market has increased, the effect of which is clearly visible on fund raising activities. April-June 2025 saw a rise of about 10% in BSE Sensex, which came from strong purchases of foreign and domestic investors. According to data from National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL), foreign portfolio investors withdrawn Rs 1.2 lakh crore in January-March 2025, but they invested Rs 38,673 crore in April-June.<\/span><\/p>\n

Josh showed in IPO and rights issue<\/b><\/h2>\n

The IPO market also saw a tremendous movement in this quarter. The amount raised through IPO increased by 88.6% and this figure reached Rs 29,652 crore. Apart from this, the amount raised through the rights issue rose four times and it was Rs 7,644 crore. Companies emphasized on the trust of shareholders to strengthen their balance sheet, as a result of which came out as this great figure.<\/span><\/p>\n

Market moves changed due to investors<\/b><\/h2>\n

Bhavesh Shah says that people investing in IPO are usually active in the secondary market. When the market performance is bad, not only their existing portfolio is affected, but their hunger for new investment also decreases. But this time the stability in the market and strong participation of domestic investors has maintained the speed of raising funds. Shah believes that if there is stability in the secondary market and the confidence of domestic investors remains, then this fast may continue.<\/span><\/p>\n

Average deals size increased size in block deals<\/b><\/h2>\n

Although the total value of B&B deals increased, the number of these deals declined. There was 3,003 deals in the June quarter, which are less than 3,461 deals in the previous quarter. This means that the average size of the deal has increased. This is an indication that big investors and institutional buyers are now focusing on big deals.<\/span><\/p>\n

Market experts believe that if global and domestic economic conditions are favorable, then this pace of raising funds can remain intact. Increasing confidence and market stability can give further air to this boom.
