Taking a big step in the India AI mission, the government has chosen a company named Sarvam to create India’s first indigenous AI model. This company will make the country’s first LLM i.e. large language model. This in itself will be the first attempt to create an AI model that is expert in understanding Indian languages \u200b\u200band can reconcile and has been optimized for the population of a large country as India. Let me tell you that it was announced by IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav himself and he chose Sarvam from 67 proposals to prepare the AI \u200b\u200bmodel.<\/p>\n

Country’s first AI model<\/strong>
In this regard, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that a startup named Sarvam AI has been chosen to create the country’s first AI Foundational model, two to three more startups can be part of this project in the coming time. Let us know that this startup named Sarvam AI had already prepared a language model working in Hindi language based on LLAMA2-7B of Meta. Not only this, this model specializes in Hindi, English and Hinglish and it can give as much performance as Chatgpt 3.5.<\/p>\n

Government support<\/strong>
The government will provide GPU worth about 200 crores to Sarvam AI so that it can complete its project. This will also help in keeping the data used in AI training in India and it will also help in making India’s AI sector self -sufficient. This startup named Sarvam AI was started by Vivek Raghavan and Priyush Kumar in the year 2023 and this year he was successful in raising $ 41 million in his series a funding round. Vivek Raghavan and Priyush Kumar have also worked in AI4Bharat of Nandan Nilekani, co -founder of Infosys. Vivek Raghavan said on the occasion that “Sarvam AI will use the data of Indian enterprises and will prepare an AI model with special domains.”<\/p>\n

This is the goal<\/strong>
Sarvam AI aims to create an AI model to understand Indian languages. This will prove to be helpful in places like health, education and agriculture.
