Bemetara<\/strong><\/p>\nAwareness programs were organized by various government health institutions in the district on Friday, organized on the occasion of World Malaria Day. The event was organized under this year’s theme “Malaria Ends With Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite” (Malaria is finished with us – re -invest, re -imagine, re -ignite)).
The awareness chariot was flagged off by Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Yashwat Kumar Dhruv and District Nodal Officer (NVBDCP) cum District Health Officer Dr. Ashok Basod. Through this chariot, the common man was given information related to malaria symptoms, prevention and treatment.<\/p>\n
The objective of the program is to free the state from local malaria infection by 2027 and to eradicate malaria by 2030. The need for collective efforts for this was emphasized.
A workshop on malaria was also organized for all the Mitanins in the urban area, which provided information related to the identity, prevention and quick treatment of malaria. Malaria is spread by infected female mosquito bites, the symptoms of which include high fever, body pain, headache and vomiting etc.<\/p>\n
Health officials said that malaria investigation and treatment is available free of cost in all government health institutions. Also, it was advisable to put kerosene or burnt mobil oil in the water stopped for the larvae control of mosquitoes and use pesticides-credited mosquito nets.
District Program Manager Ms. Lata Banjare, V.B.D. Supervisor Mr. Gulabchand Sahu, District Mitanin Coordinator Smt. Lata Meravi, Mitanin instructor Usha Sahu, all Mitanin and other officers\/employees were present.
