In this direction, Delhi-based non-profit organization Rocket Learning has recently launched an AI-based learning tool called &#8216;Appu&#8217;, which has been developed in collaboration with Google. It helps children between three to six years to learn individual and interactive. Especially for the weaker section children, it is being considered a gamechanger.<\/p>\n<p>According to rocket learning co-founder Vishal Sunil and Aziz Gupta, traditional aditech platforms often repeat the same material, affecting children&#8217;s intellectual curiosity. Appu changes it, as it helps children to learn through dialogue. If a child struggles in understanding a subject, it tries to teach him in new examples and ways.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emphasis on learning through voice<\/strong><br \/>Voice notes are the highest in the world in India. Keeping this in mind, Appu is designed as a voice-based learning tool. It is currently available in Hindi, but will soon be launched in 20 languages \u200b\u200bincluding Marathi, Punjabi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Human side of AI<\/strong><br \/>Appu has been made a tutor with a structured and interactive experience, not only a machine to give knowledge. Rocket Learning studied the methods of better teachers and carers before developing it, so that it could become culture-compatible and practical for children.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Google support<\/strong><br \/>According to Google&#8217;s Global Program Director Annie Levin, Google supports institutions that are using AI to resolve large social issues. He said that Google has so far given an amount of more than $ 200 million to AI-based social projects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Challenges and the path ahead<\/strong><br \/>However, excessive dependence on AI can affect children&#8217;s ability to think and understand. That is why Appu is designed to promote the curious mind of children.<\/p>\n<p>A major challenge is also a lack of digital literacy. In view of this, Appu has been made available through WhatsApp, so that parents can use it easily. Also, Anganwadi workers have been actively added to it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Target to reach 50 million children<\/strong><br \/>Rocket learning aims to reach Appu to 50 million families by 2030. The organization believes that if the advantage of AI-based education is limited to only special classes, then AI divide can increase in the society. They are developing it as a public digital resource to prevent this.<\/p>\n<p>With the cooperation of the government, there is a plan to convert Anganwadi centers into a strong center of early education.
