This report was introduced to the National Green Tribunal. The report said that statistical analysis was needed due to data variability. The report said that static analysis was needed because samples were submitted on different dates and all these samples were taken from different places.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What were the problems in the correct assessment?<\/strong><br \/>The Central Pollution Control Board said that it was extremely difficult to assess the entire river water properly due to different samples. The Central Pollution Control Board has said that it has tested and monitored the river water twice every week since the introduction of Mahakumbh. The report said that from January 12 to February 28, water was monitored at 5 places of the Ganges River and two places of Yamuna River and a committee of experts was deployed for this.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CPCB told Ganga water dirty last month<\/strong><br \/>On February 17, CPCB had told the panel of NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Srivastava that water quality primary standards for bathing in many places during Mahakumbh do not meet the primary standards. The board had stated in the report of 17 February that a high amount of fecal coliform bacteria (fecal bacteria) has been found in the water of Ganga-Yamuna.
