Chhattisgarh has become the first state to implement One State-One Election. Today the State Election Commission announced the dates of urban body and panchayat elections, in which it was announced to conduct both city and village elections in Chhattisgarh for the first time in a single code of conduct. Let us tell you that the government had formed a committee to hold civic and panchayat elections simultaneously. Following his suggestion, it has been announced to conduct elections under a single code of conduct.<\/p>\n

Municipal body elections in Chhattisgarh will be held in one phase. The three-tier Panchayat elections will be held in three phases, which will be held on 17, 20 and 23 February 2025.<\/p>\n

Nominations will start from January 22.
There will be time till 31st January for withdrawal of nominations.

Nominations will take place from 27 January to 3 February.
Voting will take place on 17, 20 and 23 February.<\/p>\n

There was discussion in the House on the unofficial resolution.<\/strong>
An unofficial resolution was presented in the Assembly by BJP MLA Rajesh Munat regarding simultaneous holding of civic and panchayat elections. This non-official resolution was discussed in the House on 26 July 2024. On behalf of the government, Deputy CM and Urban Administration Minister Arun Saw agreed to this. After this, Munat withdrew the resolution, but during this time its process was started in the House on the basis of the assurance given by the government.<\/p>\n

The committee had recommended holding simultaneous elections<\/strong>
The state government had formed a committee of officers under the chairmanship of IAS Richa Sharma to consider and give suggestions on the possibility of holding local elections simultaneously. There were five officers including the Chairman. The order for formation of this committee was issued on 4 August. This committee submitted its report to the government in October.
