During the hearing of this case on Friday, the Supreme Court has indicated that all the related petitions can now be heard in one court. This can bring a new twist in the resolution of the dispute, which can be beneficial for both the parties.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Supreme Court&#8217;s stance<\/strong><br \/>A bench of Supreme Court Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar made important comments on Friday regarding the Krishna Janmasthan-Shahi Idgah land dispute. The bench asked why about 18 cases related to various civil courts of Mathura should not be consolidated and heard before the High Court, whereas the Allahabad High Court had already given a verdict in this regard. The Supreme Court also said that consolidation of cases could be more convenient for the parties, as it could avoid lengthy and complicated procedures in different courts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Muslim side&#8217;s objection<\/strong><br \/>The lawyer for the Muslim side, however, objected to this integration, saying that these trials are not of similar nature and if they are heard together, it may lead to complications. However, the Supreme Court bench rejected this objection, saying that this would not create any kind of complication, and it would be convenient for the parties.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Allahabad High Court decision<\/strong><br \/>On May 26, 2023, the Allahabad High Court had ordered to transfer the cases related to the Krishna Janmasthan-Shahi Idgah land dispute from various civil courts of Mathura to itself. After this, on August 1, 2024, the High Court, while giving another important order, rejected the challenge of the Mosque Management Committee and directed to continue the hearing of the case.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Know the situation before January 16<\/strong><br \/>On January 16, 2024, the Supreme Court had temporarily suspended the order to survey the Shahi Idgah Mosque, staying the Allahabad High Court&#8217;s order dated December 14, 2023. This decision may also add new aspects to the further hearing of the case, which may be helpful in resolving the dispute.<\/p>\n<p><strong>date of next hearing<\/strong><br \/>The Supreme Court has fixed April 1, 2025 for the next hearing of the case, when lawyers from both sides will present their arguments.
