Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal has been on fast for about one and a half months at the Khanauri border connecting Haryana and Punjab. Along with them, thousands of farmers are stuck in tents. These farmers have also decided to take out a tractor rally on January 26, but the farmers’ movement does not seem to be gaining momentum in the neighboring state of Haryana. In such a situation, questions are being raised as to why the farmers of Haryana are not joining the movement with the people of Punjab. Not only this, there is no movement visible among the farmers of Western Uttar Pradesh regarding this. But even in areas bordering Punjab like Karnal, Ambala and Kurukshetra, there is no enthusiasm about the movement among the farmers. Many reasons are believed for this.<\/p>\nBJP government has returned in Haryana in the recently held assembly elections. Due to this, the enthusiasm of the leaders leading the farmers’ movement has cooled down. Not only this, the Naib Singh Saini government of Haryana has also launched Bhavantar Bharpa Yojana. Through this, if there is any shortfall in MSP, it will be compensated. Nayab Singh Saini government has also implemented a scheme to purchase 24 crops at MSP. Due to this, farmers’ crops are being purchased on a large scale. It is believed that due to this, farmers are not seeing any loss due to the absence of MSP law in Haryana. In such a situation, he has no stance regarding the movement.<\/p>\n
Apart from this, another information is being received that the United Kisan Morcha is not a part of the ongoing movement by the organizations of Punjab. In such a situation, an atmosphere of fight for respect has been created among the farmer organizations. Some farmer leaders of Haryana say that if we are called with respect then we will not go otherwise.<\/p>\n
At the same time, a leader praised the stand of the Haryana government and said that even though there is no law on MSP, the state government has tried to compensate for it. If all the states make similar policies, then there will be pressure on the Central Government itself to move towards a law on MSP. State governments cannot make laws in this matter. It is noteworthy that Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is leading the farmers of Punjab, is not ready to break his fast.
