Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has said that street vendors and women’s groups have an important role in strengthening the country’s economy. PM \u2013 Swanidhi scheme has helped in making street vendors self-reliant and DE \u2013 NULM scheme has promoted women in the path of entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai was addressing the felicitation ceremony organized by the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) of the Urban Administration and Development Department at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in the capital Raipur today. In the program, he honored the bodies, banks, beneficiaries and street vendors doing excellent work in PM Swanidhi and National Urban Livelihood Mission.<\/p>\n

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, Forest Minister and Raipur district in-charge minister Kedar Kashyap, MLA Motilal Sahu were also present.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai said that our street vendors provide goods to the customers at very cheap and with quality. Earlier there was no plan to help these people. Our illustrious Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only sensitively understood the problems of street vendors but also started PM Swanidhi Yojana to take them forward. The conditions of this scheme were kept very easy. With no guarantors, the facility to repay the loan in monthly installments and the benefit of interest subsidy, the way has now opened for lakhs of street vendors to fulfill their dreams. Our government will provide you all possible help.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister said that along with this, commendable work of empowering women self-help groups by providing them loans at low interest rates for various small businesses is being done under the NULM scheme. In Chhattisgarh, lakhs of women are being taken forward in the path of entrepreneurship by providing loans at nominal interest rates. The Chief Minister expressed the need for continuous monitoring of the shelters being run for the urban homeless.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister said that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs of the Central Government has honored Chhattisgarh and four urban bodies with the Spark Award 2023-24. He said that for helping the poor families, we are also honoring the officials of the Urban Administration Department and the bank officials who provide them bank linkage.<\/p>\n

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao said on this occasion that these schemes are proving to be very beneficial for the poor families who earn daily. Through this, the beneficiaries are earning their living by running businesses on the footpaths of the city. He highlighted in detail the work and achievements of the state government during the period of one year. While addressing the program, Forest Minister and Minister in-charge of Raipur district, Kedar Kashyap said that our government is emphasizing on expanding civic facilities in urban areas and providing means of livelihood to the poor and women. When this section becomes strong, Chhattisgarh will also become strong.<\/p>\n

Dr. Basava Raju S., Secretary, Urban Administration and Development Department. Gave information about the efficient implementation of PM \u2013 Swanidhi Yojana, Pandit Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana, operated for the upliftment of urban poor families. He said that till now financial assistance of Rs 184.98 crore has been provided to 88,498 street vendors in the state from banks under PM Swa Nidhi Yojana. Similarly, under the State Urban Livelihood Mission, Rs 30 crore 34 lakh has been distributed as revolving fund to 30 thousand 347 women self-help groups.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, the Chief Minister launched short films on \u201cOne Year of Development, Achievement and Good Governance\u201d, \u201cDAY \u2013 NULM, PM \u2013 Swanidhi Yojana\u201d and \u201cMukhyamantri Slum Swasthya Yojana\u201d. On this occasion, the guests including the Chief Minister also visited the exhibition put up by the beneficiaries.<\/p>\n
