Jay Shah, after assuming the charge of the President of the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday, said that his priority is to accelerate the development of women’s game along with preparations for cricket being included in the Los Angeles Olympics 2028 Games. “I am honored to assume the role of ICC President and I am grateful for the support and confidence of the ICC Directors and Member Boards,” Jay Shah said in a statement after taking over as ICC President here today. \u201cThis is an exciting time for the game as we prepare for the Los Angeles Olympics 2028 and work to make cricket more inclusive and attractive to fans around the world,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\u201cWe are at a turning point with the co-existence of multiple formats and the need to accelerate the growth of the women’s game,\u201d she said. He said, \u201cCricket has immense potential at the global level and I look forward to working closely with the ICC team and Member States to capitalize on these opportunities and take the game to new heights.<\/p>\n
