A notice has been issued to the state government and the police station in-charge, seeking answers. The next hearing will be on November 19. The court gave this order citing the instructions of the Supreme Court.<\/h2>\n<p>Through an important interim order, the High Court has banned the construction of temples in the police station premises of the state. Along with this, notices were issued to the State Government, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary Home, Urban Administration, Director General of Police, Collector-SP of Jabalpur and Civil Line, Vijay Nagar, Madan Mahal and Lordganj police station in-charges and summoned their answers. The next hearing of the case has been scheduled for November 19.<\/p>\n<div>\n<h3>Construction of temples in police stations<\/h3>\n<p>On Monday, the case was heard before the double bench of Chief Justice Suresh Kumar Kait and Justice Vivek Jain. During this, advocates Satish Verma, Grishm Jain and Amit Patel presented their side on behalf of the public interest petitioner, Jabalpur resident advocate OP Yadav. He argued that despite the clear instructions of the Supreme Court, temples are being constructed in various police station premises of the state including Jabalpur. Therefore, an order to stop the work of the temples under construction is expected.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3>Court issued notice<\/h3>\n<p>It was also argued that instructions should be issued to remove illegal temples. Not only this, action should also be taken against the concerned police station in-charge under Civil Service Rules. After hearing the preliminary arguments, the High Court, under an interim order, banned the construction of temples in the police station premises in the light of the direction of the Supreme Court. Also sought answers from others including the state government.<\/p>\n<h3>What are the instructions of the Supreme Court<\/h3>\n<p>The Supreme Court had recently said in its important judgment that police station premises should be run in a democratic manner, imbued with the motto of patriotism and public service. It is inappropriate to construct places of worship of any particular religion in police station premises.
