Actually, the company&#8217;s co-founder and CEO Nitin Kamath has made a big announcement regarding brokerage charges. He said that there will be no changes in brokerage charges. He said on social media platform \u2013 Equity delivery will be free in Zerodha. At present we are not making any changes in our brokerage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>Changes in options and futures trading charges<\/h2>\n<p>This news has come at a time when the charges for option and future trading will be adjusted from today i.e. October 1. Securities Transaction Tax (STT) for options trading will increase from 0.0625% to 0.1% while transaction charges will reduce from 0.0495% to 0.035%. According to Nitin Kamath, this will increase the premium by 0.02303 per cent or Rs 2,303 per crore on NSE and by 0.0205 per cent or Rs 2,050 per crore on BSE. In case of futures, if STT has been increased from 0.0125% to 0.02%, the transaction charge will come down from 0.00183% to 0.00173%. This results in an increase of 0.00735 percent or Rs 735 per crore in futures trading.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>SEBI circular in July<\/h2>\n<p>Let us tell you that on July 1, 2024, market regulator SEBI had issued a circular. In this circular, Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs) were asked not to impose slab-wise fee structure based on trading volume. In return, it was asked to implement a uniform fee structure. On the basis of this circular, stock exchanges have imposed charges. Talking about MII, stock exchanges, clearing corporations and depositories come under it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>What did Nitin say on IPO<\/h2>\n<p>Earlier, Nitin Kamath had told in a blog post why Zerodha is not getting listed in the stock market. He wrote, \u201cI have been asked many times why we did not go public. We could have easily achieved wild valuations in the last two to three years but an IPO of a company is not the end, but a new beginning. The company must be able to predict revenues to some extent.
