Modern archery center will be built at a cost of Rs 20 crore 53 lakh

Today, in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, an agreement was signed between the district administration and NTPC to establish an archery academy at Sanna Pandarapath under Bagicha development block at the Chief Minister Camp Office in Bagiya in Jashpur district. This project will be operated by NTPC under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at a cost of Rs 20 crore 53 lakh. Collector Rohit Vyas and NTPC Additional General Manager (Human Resources) Bilash Mohanty were present on this occasion.

Chief Minister Sai said that an amount of Rs 20 crore 53 lakh is being provided by NTPC for the establishment of Archery Center through CSR, it is a matter of great joy. He said that the youth of Jashpur area have immense potential for archery, and with the opening of this centre, they will get great facility of training and resources.

Chief Minister Sai said that India has submitted a claim to host the Olympic Games in the year 2036. It will be our endeavor that players from Chhattisgarh should join the national team in maximum numbers and bring glory to the state and the country by winning medals. This is possible only if we establish more training centers like Archery Centre. Through such centres, talented players will be identified and provided all possible assistance.

He said that the state government has announced that the Olympic gold medal winners will be given a prize money of Rs 3 crore, silver medal winners will be given Rs 2 crore and bronze medal winners will be given Rs 1 crore.

Chief Minister Sai also said that the State Sports Investiture Ceremony has been organized again and talented players are being honored through it. He said that new training centers of ‘Khelo India’ have been started in the state and special attention is being given to the development of sports infrastructure in tribal areas.

The Chief Minister said that our country has been a leader in archery since ancient times. The heroes of our sacred texts like Mahabharata and Ramayana have also been adept in this genre. Taking forward the same tradition, we have to prepare new archers through modern technology and trained guidance.

It is noteworthy that this academy will be established on 10.27 acres of land in Sanna Pandarapath. Facilities like outdoor archery range, hostel for players, staff quarter, building for the convenience of players, shady nursery for organic farming, library, medical centre, skill development centre, herbal plantation and training ground will be developed here.
