Woman sets herself on fire along with 5 month old baby
A painful incident came to light on Thursday evening in Rau area of Indore in Madhya Pradesh, where a newly married woman committed suicide with her five-month-old son in her lap. Both died during treatment. According to the information, there was a dispute going on between the husband and wife for some time, due to which this step was taken. At present the police is busy investigating the entire matter.
According to Rau police, the incident took place in New Braj Vihar Colony. Here a 25-year-old woman named Suman set herself on fire along with her five-month-old son Pratham by pouring inflammable substance on herself. Hearing the screams, nearby people reached the spot and both of them were immediately taken to Choithram Hospital. Child Pratham died in the hospital late at night, while Suman also died during treatment on Friday afternoon.

Police investigation has initially revealed that there was mutual tension going on between Suman and her husband Kailash for the last few days. Kailash works as a tailor in a factory, while Suman was originally from Bhopal. Not much time had passed since the marriage. The woman was mentally disturbed due to domestic dispute, and under this stress she took this dreadful step. The police have sent the bodies of both of them to the district hospital for post-mortem.
Police recorded statements of family members
ACP Nidhi Saxena said that a detailed investigation of the matter is being done. Statements of the relatives of the deceased are being recorded and the real reasons behind the self-immolation are being ascertained. Police said that if any case of harassment or incitement to suicide comes to light, action will be taken accordingly. However, the family members of the deceased have not filed any complaint yet. The matter is being investigated thoroughly.
