Last month, resignations were submitted by 18 councilors in Shivpuri Municipality accusing Mayor Gayatri Sharma of corruption, but the said resignations were rejected by the Collector saying there was no valid reason. In this sequence, now independent councilor of ward no. 21, Raju Gurjar has once again submitted his resignation to the Collector.

Resignation given in utmost secrecy

In the said resignation letter, he has clearly written that I do not want to remain a burden on the public, my resignation should be accepted. Raju Gurjar gave this resignation very secretly, which neither his fellow councilors nor anyone else could get a clue about. This resignation letter was given on October 8, according to him, since Collector Ravindra Chaudhary and ADM Dinesh Shukla were not available in the Collectorate, hence they have given their resignation letter in person.

Give personal reasons behind resignation letter

Councilor Raju Gurjar, while addressing the Collector in his resignation letter, has mentioned that due to personal reasons, he wants to resign from the post. Therefore, you are requested to please relieve me from the post of councilor, so that I can retire from the responsibilities of my public life, because due to personal life constraints, I am not able to serve the people of my ward number 21, due to which I do not want to remain a burden on the people of the ward. Therefore, please understand my request and accept the resignation letter without any delay.

Other councilors may also resign soon

If reliable sources are to be believed, the councilors who were upset with the mayor’s functioning and alleged corruption had resigned. The party had assured them that the party would soon take a decision in this matter, but now the councilors have lost confidence in the party’s assurance. Due to this, other councilors may also soon submit their resignations collectively or individually.
