The construction of National Highway 130-D connecting Bastar region to Maharashtra has gained new momentum. Chhattisgarh government has completed the tender process for the construction of 21.5 km stretch from Kutul to Nilangur (Maharashtra border). Instructions have been given by the Ministry of Public Works Department to the Chief Engineer, National Highway Zone Raipur to complete the contract process along with the conditions from the contractor who has given the minimum tender for the construction of this road. A minimum tender rate of about Rs 152 crore has been received for the construction of 21.5 km road to be constructed in three sections, which has been approved by the Chhattisgarh government.
It is noteworthy that Kutul is located in Abujhmad area of Narayanpur district and the distance from Kutul to Nilangur on the Maharashtra border is 21.5 kilometers. It is part of National Highway 130-D. This road will be constructed with two-lane paved shoulders.
It is noteworthy that NH-130D is a national highway, whose total length is about 195 kilometers. This is a branch route (spur route) of NH-30. It starts from Kondagaon and goes to Nilangur (Maharashtra border) via Narayanpur, Kutul. Further in Maharashtra, it passes through Bingunda, Lahre, Dhodaraj, Bhamargarh, Hema, Lakasa and reaches Aalappalli, where it joins NH-353D. With the development of this route, Bastar region will be directly connected to the National Highway network and trade, tourism and security will get a major boost.
About 50 km stretch of National Highway 130-D from Kondagaon to Narayanpur is under construction. The distance from Narayanpur to Kutul is 50 km and from there to Nilangur on the Maharashtra border is 21.5 km. The total length of this National Highway is 195 km, out of which about 122 km stretch from Kondagaon-Narayanpur via Kutul to Nilangur falls in the state of Chhattisgarh. With the construction of this road, Bastar region will get direct and strong road connectivity with Maharashtra and safe and easy transportation facilities will be available in Naxal affected areas.
