Durgapur-Mumbai Indigo flight made an emergency landing at Raipur airport on Thursday midnight after the health of a cancer patient and a resident of Burdwan in West Bengal deteriorated. The young man, who became unconscious during the flight, was declared dead when taken to a local hospital. According to the information received from the airport, Gautam Bauri, a resident of Burdwan, West Bengal, was on board the Indigo flight going from Durgapur to Mumbai on Wednesday night.
He was suffering from blood cancer. Was going to Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai for treatment. His health deteriorated during the flight and he became unconscious. The pilot asked air traffic control for permission to make an emergency landing. As soon as the permission was received, the flight was hurriedly landed at Raipur airport at night. He was examined at Raipur airport and then taken to the government hospital located in Mana. Where he was declared dead.
