A cabinet meeting was held today at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. In the meeting, an important decision was taken regarding the purchase of paddy at support price from the farmers of the state in the Kharif marketing year 2025-26.
Big decisions of cabinet meeting
- Paddy will be purchased from more than 25 lakh farmers in the state at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal starting from November 15.
- Vigilant arrangements to prevent diversion and recycling of paddy and strong administrative structure for purchasing paddy.
- Farmers will be paid on time (within 6 to 7 days) with more transparency.
- Token Tuhar Haath will be arranged online through mobile app. Farmers will get freedom from long queues in societies
- The state government has decided to purchase paddy from farmers of Chhattisgarh state from 15 November 2025 to 31 January 2026 in the Kharif marketing year 2025-26.
- During the said period, paddy will be purchased from 25 lakh farmers at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal to the extent of 21 quintals per acre.
- To promote transparency in paddy procurement, this year, farmer registration has been made mandatory in the Agristech portal of the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, through e-KYC, so that the farmer is correctly identified and there is no duplication. Registration can be done till 31 October 2025.
- Survey of 23 lakh hectare area has been conducted through digital crop survey, as a result of which online determination of paddy area has been ensured digitally.
- In 20,000 villages of the state, the data of digital crop survey and manual Girdawari is being read out in the Gram Sabha from 2nd October.
- To ensure better arrangements for the farmers, online token arrangement has been made through Token Tuhar Haath mobile app. Under this, the farmers themselves will be able to deduct tokens for selling paddy on the days as per their convenience.
- To ensure procurement of paddy from genuine farmers, biometric based paddy procurement will be done.
- Instructions have been given to make proper arrangements in the committees for purchasing paddy through 2739 procurement centres.
- The societies will be given incentive at the rate of Rs 05 per quintal if they achieve zero yield in the procurement marketing year 2025-26.
- Instructions have been given to arrange for new and old jute gunny bags as per requirement for purchasing paddy.
- The Food Department, Government of India has set a target of 73 lakh metric tons of rice in the central pool for the Kharif year 2025-26.
- For better and easier arrangements in paddy procurement centres, the Collector has decided to make administrative officers in-charge of the procurement centres.
- Instructions have been given to form special checking teams at the district level to stop the arrival of paddy purchased from border states.
- To ensure economy in the paddy transportation system, instructions have been given to do physical verification of lifting and transportation of paddy.
