In a water conservation and water conservation workshop organized on Thursday in a private hotel in the capital Raipur, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that water conservation has become the biggest need of today’s era. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, meaningful work is being done in the direction of water resources, conservation and conservation through Sujalam Bharat Abhiyan across the country. This campaign should not just be a government initiative, but a people’s movement, so that water security can be ensured for future generations.

Chief Minister Sai said that new ideas and experiences will be shared in the field of water management through this workshop, due to which this program will prove to be a milestone in the future. He said that the state government is also making efforts at many levels for water conservation and recharge. Last year, when the level of many dams and reservoirs of the state had dropped alarmingly, the government took immediate action and ensured water supply to the affected areas through tankers.

CM Sai further said that this year, by the grace of God, there was timely and sufficient rain, due to which the water level in the reservoirs has improved. He said that water exploitation is continuously increasing, hence it is now the responsibility of the society to make water conservation not just a slogan but a movement. The Chief Minister said, “If concrete steps are not taken now, we may have to face a serious crisis in the future.”

Officials from various departments, environmental experts, water conservation activists and representatives of social organizations were also present in the workshop. Everyone shared their experiences and suggestions for water conservation.

During the program, the Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of the ongoing water conservation campaigns in the state and directed the officials to promote public participation in the conservation of water sources in every district.

Along with speaking on the issue of water conservation, the Chief Minister also gave an important statement regarding the end of Naxalism in the state. He said that Naxal activities are being continuously controlled in the state. Recently 16 Naxalites have surrendered, which is a proof of the success of the government’s policies. Sai said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have resolved to completely eliminate Naxalism from the country by March 2026. The state and the center are jointly taking concrete steps in this direction and positive results are emerging.
