Another case has been registered against Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah and 36-year-old Sudan Gurung, who leads the Gen-Z youth. Both of them are accused of burning Singh Darbar. Kathmandu Police said that this complaint has been filed by Yuvraj Paudel against Mayor Shah and Gurung. Yuvraj Paudel is also known as Yuvraj Safal. Yuvraj Safal is an active social worker and political analyst from Nepal. The police is preparing to send this complaint to the committee formed to investigate the incidents of September 8 and 9.
There was a complaint a day before also
On Tuesday, All Nepal National Independent Students Union (ANNFSU), close to CPN-UML, also filed a complaint against Mayor Shah and Gurung. The police is also going to send this complaint to the investigation committee. ANNFSU said it would contact the interim government and provide videos and photos for investigation. In fact, on September 9, the protesters had set fire to Nepal’s Parliament, Singh Darbar, Supreme Court and other places.
FIR against former PM of Nepal also
A day before, an FIR has been registered against former Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli. Gen-Z youth have held Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhi responsible for the deaths during the violence. 76 people died in Nepal violence. The movement started against corruption and demanding removal of the ban on social media. On the first day, the youth had demonstrated peacefully, but the police opened fire without warning.
The demonstration became more violent on the second day. In this many government offices were set on fire. Oli had to resign from the post of Prime Minister due to violence and increasing anger of the youth. Now the activists of the Gen-Z movement demand that those responsible for the violence committed by the state should be punished and brought within the ambit of the law.
