Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap has asked to prepare a detailed action plan to promote eco-tourism. He said that there are many attractive centers for sightseeing, sightseeing and entertainment in Bilaspur division. If easy access roads and some basic facilities are developed to these centres, then a larger number of people will be able to reach them. This will not only provide employment to the local people but will also increase the identity of Chhattisgarh at the national level. Shri Kashyap was reviewing the working of the forest department today by holding a meeting of senior forest officers of Bilaspur forest circle in the Manthan meeting room of Bilaspur district office. In the meeting, PCCF and Forest Force Chief Shri V. Srinivas Rao, Managing Director, Minor Forest Produce Cooperative Union Anil Sahu, PCCF Wildlife Arun Pandey along with APCCF, CCF of Aranya Bhavan and DFOs of all the forest divisions of the circle were present.
Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap made a detailed review of departmental schemes forest division wise in the meeting. He directed to make the remaining payment of Tendupatta remuneration before Diwali. The technical problems of the bank account should be resolved and immediate payment should be ensured in the beneficiary’s account. Minister Shri Kashyap said that Charan Padukas will be distributed to about 12 lakh male collectors in the next year. For this, measure their feet and send it immediately so that the purchase process can be started from the headquarters level. It is noteworthy that the state government has restarted the closed Charanpaduka scheme. Charan Padukas have been distributed to around 12 lakh women collectors this year.
Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap expressed happiness over the significant increase in the number of tigers in Achanakmar Sanctuary. Officials told in the meeting that the number of tigers including cubs has increased from 5 to 18 in the last two-three years. Shri Kashyap said that Achanakmar can become the biggest tourism hub of Central India.
All types of transport facilities including air and rail are nearby and are suitable for reaching here. He directed to organize publicity programs by calling big celebrities in the areas adjacent to Achanakmar. Minister Shri Kashyap said that the work of making Kopra Reservoir of Takhatpur a Ramsar site should be expedited. Similarly, in the forest areas of the division, there are many scenic tourist places like Aurapani, Khudia, Kotmi Sonar Crocodile Park, Gomdau Sanctuary, Ramjharna Raigarh, Sat Renga Korba, Buka Picnic Spot Katghora etc., which can be developed and made a center of attraction for the people. Forest Minister Shri Kashyap said on elephant-human conflict that we have to develop the habit of living with elephants.
They do not have to run away from their residence. But it also has to be seen that they do not cause any loss of life or any other kind of harm, for this we ourselves have to be alert so that they do not cause any harm. He praised the utility of AI based app for elephant awareness in Katghora forest division.
Minister Shri Kashyap said that a large number of tribal people live in the plain areas also. We should see how they get maximum benefits from the schemes of the Forest Department. He also reviewed the progress of transfer and division of forest lease. 366 such applications have been received under the division, out of which only 84 have been resolved. He gave instructions for speedy disposal of all 280 pending cases. A large number of name transfer cases were reported pending in Korba Forest Division. In the meeting, he reviewed other schemes including e-Kuber App, Kisan Vrikshamitra Yojana, encroachment in forest land, Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam and gave instructions to work on them rapidly to achieve the target.
