PM Modi expressed grief over Nepal flood traged


Nature is wreaking havoc in Nepal. Rain, landslides and floods have caused huge havoc in the neighboring country. People’s houses are absorbed in water. Many have become homeless. 42 people have died in this natural disaster in eastern Nepal. At the same time, five people have gone missing. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the loss of life in Nepal. He assured that India is committed to providing all possible assistance to the neighboring country.

Most people died in Ilam district

Many districts of Nepal are in the grip of floods. It is being told that most people have died in Ilam district. 37 people lost their lives here. In East Koshi province, there was heavy landslide due to continuous rains since Saturday evening, in which at least 18 people have died. According to the police, 6 people died in Ghosang and 5 in Mangsebung. Landslides and heavy rains have caused havoc in the area. Eight eight people died in Deumai and Myzogmai areas of Ilam district, while six people in Ilam and Sandakpur, five in sunrise, three in Mangsebud and one in Fakfokathum village.

Domestic flights banned at Tribhuvan International Airport

In view of bad weather here, domestic flights have been stopped at Tribhuvan International Airport. Flights from Kathmandu, Bharatpur, Janakpur, Bhadrapur, Pokhara and Tumligatar are currently closed. Nepal’s army has been deployed for relief and rescue operations. An official said that the army, with the help of an airplane, took out two injured, including the pregnant woman, and admitted them to the hospital of Dharan municipality. However, due to bad weather, rescue operations are being affected and there is obstacles in relief work.

Flood threat in many areas

Monsoon is active in five of the seven provinces of Nepal. These include Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces. Due to the monsoon, there is continuous rain, due to which the water level in the rivers has increased and there is a threat of flood in many areas. In view of the situation, Nepali officials have banned the movement of vehicles for the next three days in Kathmandu.

Traffic movement completely closed

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRMA) has issued a warning, asking to completely close the movement of vehicles in the Kathmandu Valley from Saturday to Monday. Officials have requested people not to drive long distance for the next three days so that accidents can be avoided. Apart from this, a red alert has been issued in areas around Bagmati and East Rapti rivers. Due to continuous increase in rain, the water level of these rivers can reach dangerous levels, which can create flood conditions.
