Chhattisgarh is a state rich in natural resources. Valuable minerals like iron ore, coal, bauxite, gold, diamond and copper are available in abundance here. Recent discoveries have strengthened the region of state critical and rare minerals. Chief Minister Sai said this while addressing the Chhattisgarh Mining Conclave 2025 in Nawa Raipur today. During this period, important MoUs were signed between ISM Dhanbad and Chhattisgarh Geology and Mining Directorates, and Coal India and Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation in the presence of the Chief Minister. Along with this, NITs of 5 mining blocks were issued and 9 mines were awarded preliminary bidder orders. Chief Minister Sai launched the reverse auction portal for online auction of minerals online 2.0, DMF portal and sand mines.
Chief Minister Sai said that the prudent use of minerals and balanced development of industries is necessary for the progress of the country. In view of the mining and immense possibilities of new industries in Chhattisgarh, the system of transparent mining policy, e-auction and digital monitoring has given a new direction to the region.
The Chief Minister said that this year, a contribution of Rs 1,673 crore was received from DMF, from which 9,362 development works were approved. In the year 2024-25, the state has received a record revenue of Rs 14,195 crore. He said that it is a matter of pride that Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country to auction Lithium block. So far, the auction of 60 mineral blocks has been completed and the tender of five new blocks has been released today. This transparent process will prove to be a milestone in the economic development of the state.
Chief Minister Sai said that District Mineral Trust Rules-2025 has been implemented under the Pradhan Mantri Mineral Area Welfare Scheme. The process of monitoring and management has been empowered by the DMF Portal 2.0, for which the Government of India has also honored Chhattisgarh.
He said that transparency has increased from the new sand policy-2025 and soon more than 200 sand mines will be e-auctioned. Modern techniques are being used for sustainable mining.
The Chief Minister said that today an MoU has been signed between Mining Corporation and Coal India Limited for Critical Minerals. At the same time, MoUs have also been signed along with IIT Roorkee and ISM Dhanbad to promote investment in the field of clean energy.
The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh is writing a new story of development and transparency through scientific and sustainable mining. Chhattisgarh will definitely play a leading role in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolution of developed India.
Chairman of Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation Saurabh Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sai, the state government is doing remarkable and innovative work in the mining area. Mining has increased both revenue and employment and the government is preparing efficient human resources by giving technical training to the youth. The production of two new elements has now started from the sludge coming out of the tin in the state. Also, work is being done on Critical Oor Recycling and e-West Management. He said that 28 types of minerals are mined in the state, of which tin, bauxite, coal, lime and iron are prominent.
Chief Secretary Vikasist said that after nine years, the re -organizing of mining conclave is commendable. He said that it is the government’s priority to include stakeholders suggestions in policy making and empower Ease of Doing Business. The mineral sector will play an important role in realizing the goal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s developed India 2047 and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai’s developed Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Secretary described transparency, technical use, water conservation, renewable energy, solar energy and e-waste recycling. He appreciated the new industry policy of the state and said that a large number of employment will be created.
Addressing the Chhattisgarh Mining Conclave, Secretary of the Department of Minerals, P. Dayanand gave detailed information on mineral availability, transparent system of auction, use of new technologies in excavation, achievements and activities of the department. Director Geology and Mineral Means Rajat Bansal also shared their views.
Guideline and DMF portal 2.0 released
In Chhattisgarh Mining Conclave 2025, Chief Minister Sai released the DMF Portal 2.0 with the aim of further strengthening of the Mineral Trust Fund, efficient management, transparency, good governance, effective operations and monitoring of the Mineral Trust Fund.
This portal includes amendments made in the Prime Minister’s Mineral Area Welfare Scheme (PMKKY) guidelines and in Chhattisgarh District Mineral Institute Trust Trust, 2015 (amended 2025).
Chief Minister launched mineral online portal 2.0
The Department of Minerals upgraded the mineral online portal 1.0 and prepared a 2.0 version, which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Sai.
This portal will prove to be an important milestone in the mining management journey. It is not only a technological upgradation, but a symbol of the state’s transparency, responsibility and unwavering commitment to development. Minerals online 2.0 will establish mining management of Chhattisgarh as a model system across the country and will play an important role in the economic progress of the state in the coming years.
Chief Minister launched the reverse auction portal of sand mines built by MSTC
Realizing the concept of Ease of Doing Business, the state government has signed an MoU with MSTC, a public undertaking MSTC of the Government of India for transparent and fair auction of sand mines.
Chief Minister Sai inaugurated the reverse auction portal built by MSTC today. With this initiative, the allocation of sand mines will be at a fast pace and sufficient amount of sand will be available to the beneficiaries of the Prime Minister’s residence. Also, uninterrupted supply of sand will be ensured for the state’s government and private infrastructure projects. Apart from this, royalty and taxes of crores of rupees will increase significantly in the state’s revenue.
Chief Minister gave Star Award to secondary mineral mines
On the lines of the main minerals, mining is being encouraged by proper and scientific method under the star rating system in secondary mineral mines in the state. Following environmental management, pollution control and safety standards, 43 mines who have done better work were awarded the Star Award.
Chief Minister Sai honored the mine operators with a citation and congratulated them for this achievement. In these, 3 mines were given 5 stars, 32 mines 4 stars and 8 mines were awarded 3 Star Awards.
On this occasion, Chief Minister’s Secretary Rahul Bhagat, Chief General Manager of SECL Bilaspur Harish Duhan, and representatives associated with the mineral and industry sector were present.
