Mother-in-law murdered in Raigad
A sensational case of double murder has come to light from Raigad district of Chhattisgarh on Vijayadashami. Here two members of the same family were killed in village Raikera of Gharghoda police station area. The deceased is mother -in -law and son -in -law. Their dead bodies were found indoors, while a woman in the family was found seriously injured. Police reached the spot and started investigation.
The deceased have been identified as Sukmat Sidar (80 years) and his son -in -law Laxman Sidar (60 years). Both are feared to be strangled to death. At the same time, Sukamet’s daughter was found seriously injured, who has been admitted to Tingni Hospital for immediate treatment. Doctors have described his situation worrying.
Son and neighbor questioned
As soon as the information was received, Gharghoda police station and forensic team reached the spot. Seeing the evidence found in the house and the status of the incident, the police have considered the possibility of murder as strong. The preliminary investigation has found that the incident took place late Thursday night. At present, the police has started interrogation of the deceased Laxman Sidar’s son and a neighbor of the village on the basis of suspicion.
According to police sources, the land compensation dispute behind this dual murder could be the main reason. Recently, the elderly woman Sukamet Sidar received the compensation amount from NTPC in lieu of land acquisition. It is being told that there was a continuous dispute in the family regarding this amount. The police suspect that the murder incident was carried out due to this dispute.
Son -in -law lived in her in -laws’ house
According to the information, the deceased Laxman Sidar was living in his in -laws’ house i.e. Sukamet Sidar’s house since marriage. He has a son and two daughters. There was a situation of tension on money and property for a long time inside the family. Villagers say that this dispute deepened after the compensation amount came.
Police officials say that after the postmortem report, the reason for the murder will be cleared. So far no one has been formally arrested in the case, but three members of the family are being interrogated continuously.
