Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that the elderly are the carriers of our guide and invaluable culture. The care of the elderly is the common responsibility of both the government and the society. The central and state governments are constantly strengthening the schemes dedicated to pension, health, social security and respectful lives of senior citizens. The Chief Minister was today addressing the state level event of International Older Day at Krishi Mandapam located in the Indira Gandhi Agricultural University campus in the capital Raipur as the chief guest.
The Chief Minister honored the elderly by offering shawls and quince in the program. On this occasion, he announced to create a well -equipped old age home in the state for special care of the elderly, Sian Gudi in the state, the four major cities of Raipur, Bilaspur Korba and Durg and to create a services center in the capital Raipur for the creation of a well -equipped old age homes on PPP models and repairing the accessories of the disabled. Mr. Sai flagged off 25 de -addiction chariots for awareness across the state under the drug -free Bharat Abhiyan. Chhattisgarhi folk songs and dance were performed in the program and health check -up camp was also organized.
Chief Minister Sai said that Older Day is an opportunity to remind us of our obligations. My guru has taught me that the service of parents is the worship of God. I have always followed my Guru’s rites and ideals. Shri Sai said that all of us should not forget the truth that today we will all be in the same state. The Chief Minister Mr. Sai and the guests appealed to the public to respect the elderly and cooperate in getting them the benefit of the government’s schemes, so that their life can become more secure, respectable and happy.
The Chief Minister said that the elderly are benefiting from 14 lakh in pension schemes run for the elderly in the state. Under Ayushman Bharat and Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Health Assistance Scheme, more than 8 lakh elders have been given free medical facilities. More than 50 thousand elders have benefited from the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme and Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana. Social Welfare Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade said that 1049 senior citizens are being taken care of in 35 old age homes of the state and 6 districts are operating home. The problems of more than 54 thousand senior citizens have been solved so far through the departmental helpline.
Minister Tankaram Verma, MP Brijmohan Agrawal, MLA Rajesh Munat, Motilal Sahu, Indra Kumar Sahu, Anuj Sharma, Chhattisgarh Disabled Finance Development Corporation President Lokesh Kavadia and many public representatives, dignitaries and senior administrative officers were present on the occasion.
Tourism partner initiative: District Administration MoU between Raipur and Is My Trip
The program took place between Ez My Trip and District Administration for tourism partner initiative. The Chief Minister congratulated the district administration team for this special initiative and said that employment for the youth will open new opportunities and tourism will be promoted. The youth will be trained as a tour guide at ITI Saddu as part of the tourism fellow initiative. 50 youth per batch will be included in the training program and the training will be completed in three months.
