A painful accident occurred late at night in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Hundreds of people were receiving offerings at a bhandara held near Durga Pandal near Gauri Tirahe in Sihora on Ashtami. Suddenly, a high speed passenger bus coming from Katni towards Jabalpur, MP49 P 0261 uncontrolled and entered the crowd. As soon as the uncontrollable bus entered the pandal, there was chaos and stampede on the spot. People started running around to save their lives, but by then 15 to 20 people were hit by the bus.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus driver was intoxicated by alcohol. That is why he lost control of the vehicle. After the accident, an angry mob also pelted stones at the bus. Those injured in the accident were immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital in Sihora. The seriously injured patients were referred to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College Jabalpur after first aid. The condition of five people is said to be critical.
Among the seriously injured people, Khushboo Banshkar (17 years), Roli Soni (25 years) and Sipahilal Vishwakarma were shifted to Super Specialty Hospital. Apart from this, many others including Mamta Kol, Bandana Burman, Sandhya Chaudhary, Shikha Chaudhary, Kailash Chaudhary, Manish Dahiya, Kodulal Burman and Sohanlal are injured, who are undergoing treatment. An employee posted in duty has also been injured in the accident. Also, a dozen vehicles have also been damaged.
Collector knows the condition of the injured
On receiving the information of the incident, Jabalpur Collector Raghavendra Singh and Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay reached the spot with senior officials. He discussed with the local people and sent the injured to the hospital for better treatment. Late night Divisional Commissioner Dhananjay Singh and Inspector General of Police Pramod Verma met the injured and their families admitted to the medical college. Collector and SP were also present during this period. The officials discussed with the dean and doctors doing the medical college and directed that there should be no negligence in the treatment of the injured.

Collector Raghavendra Singh informed that the families of the seven injured who were referred to the Medical College in the Sihora bus accident have been approved as immediate assistance of ten thousand rupees from the Red Cross Society. He said that all possible help will be provided by the district administration. At the same time, the district administration says that strict action will be taken against the culprits and there will be no shortage in the treatment of the injured.
