Emerging shooter Anushka Thokur won the second gold in the women’s 50m Rifle Three Posishes Competition at the ISSF Junior World Cup here on Sunday, while Adrian Karmakar won a silver medal in the men’s category of the same competition.
With this, the number of medals in India has increased to 13, including four gold, six silver and three bronze medals. Individual neutral athletes (AIN) ranks second from three gold, one silver and two bronze medals while Italy is third with two gold and one silver medal.
Eighteen -year -old Anushka won her second gold medal in the Junior World Cup in four days. She topped the women’s 50m rifle prone event on the first day of the competition. Individual neutral athlete Anastasia Sorokina won the silver medal by 454.9 points and Maria Kuglova won the bronze medal with 444.0 points.
Among the other Indians who reached the finals, Sandhu finished fifth and Prachi Gaikwad finished seventh. Domestic shooter Adrian won a silver medal in the final by 454.8 points in the junior men’s 354.8 points.
Individual neutral athlete Dimitri Pimenov won the gold medal with 459.9 points. Another individual neutral athlete Kamil Nuriakmetov won the bronze medal with a 441.0 point.
