After CM Vishnudev Sai, State Home Minister and Deputy CM Vijay Sharma has also given important information about the commissioner system. Vijay Sharma said that we are bringing the commissioner system, which will ensure adequate system and the police will be able to take quick decisions. What is the commissioner system
The Police Commissionerate System is an administrative system. Under this system, the Police Commissioner has all the powers related to law and order and police administration. Due to excess powers, the police can take a fast decision. Under this system, the Police Commissioner has powers like the District Magistrate.
This system is applicable to many places
The Police Commissionerate System is applicable in big cities in many states of the country. The SP of the district is the head of the police. It is the important responsibility of the SP to control law and order. But after this system is implemented, SP, SSP is replaced by Police Commissioner. The state government takes the decision of which rank officer of the police commissioner will be made. The state government can give this responsibility to an officer from DIG to ADG level.
The officer who is given this responsibility is an experienced officer. The state government issues notifications regarding its rights. The state government decides which rights to give. It is not necessary that all the rights are similar to the District Magistrate.
What will be changes
The biggest difference with becoming the commissioner is that the head of the district police is an experienced and high ranked officer. A lot of work is in accordance with his intention.
