Pakistan Defense Minister Khwaja Asif has said that Saudi Arabia will stand with Pakistan in the event of war with India. Asif’s statement came only a few days after the defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi. During an interview, Asif was asked whether Saudi Arabia will join it if India and Pakistan enter the war.

Asif said, ‘Yes, of course. There is no doubt about it.’ Asif insisted that under the agreement, the two Islamic countries are committed to working together in the event of any attack. He said that if Pakistan or Saudi Arabia is attacked from anywhere, it will be considered an attack on both countries and we will answer together.

Agreement after India’s action

After the terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, India took action under Operation Sindoor in May. India had taken action on terrorist bases in Pakistan and POK. The formal name of the agreement between Saudi and Pakistan is ‘Strategic Recipient Defense Agreement’.

It promises joint defense in the event of an attack on any country and strengthens the decades -old security relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said that after the Saudi agreement, other countries are also interested in similar strategic defense agreements with Islamabad.

India reacted to the agreement

Meanwhile, India issued a reaction on Thursday, saying that it would closely study the impact of this agreement on national security. Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said, “We have seen reports of a strategic mutual defense agreement between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.” The government was aware that this development, which formalize a long -term agreement between the two countries, was under consideration.

Jaiswal said that we will study the effects of this development on regional and global stability along with our national security. The government is committed to protecting India’s national interests and ensuring broad national security in all fields. Jaiswal emphasized that India’s national security is at the top.
