India has once again increased the ban on the use of its airspace for Pakistan’s registered aircraft. This ban will now continue till 23 October 2025. According to the released notum, this ban will be applicable not only to Pakistani Airlines aircraft, but also on Pakistani operators or aircraft taken on lease and even military flights.
India has clearly stated that Pakistani registered aircraft will not be able to use Indian aircraft. This decision has been taken due to security reasons and this ban may continue till further orders. That is, Pakistan will not get any relief at the moment and it will not be able to use Indian aircraft.
Earlier banned ban
However, this is not the first time India has taken this step. Earlier too, India had shut down aircraft for Pakistani aircraft and now it has been implemented by one month more to the end of October. According to notice to Airmen, the ban will be applicable to aircraft or lease of aircraft registered in Pakistan, ownership or lease of Pakistan Airlines/operators.
Earlier, India had extended the duration of keeping its airspace for the aircraft registered, owned or leased by Pakistani airlines and operators, and the closure of their airspace for military flights. At the same time, it has been decided to increase it for one more month.
Pakistan also banned
At the same time, Pakistan on Friday closed its airspace for Indian aircraft and airlines for a month, ie by the morning of 24 October. This is the sixth time when the neighboring country has increased its ban on its airspace. Pakistan Airport Authority issued Notam (Notice to Airman) on Friday.
Stress increased after Pahalgam attack
In fact, after the terrorist attacks in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, tension between the two countries reached the peak. 26 people died in this terrorist attack. After this, both countries had closed their airspace for each other. This bandh has been extended every month by India and Pakistan before the end of the deadline.
