Under the new GST reform, from September 22, food and drink items will be cheaper. Meanwhile, people are also searching for changes in the prices of LPG cylinders.
How much GST is it right now?
- 5% GST on Domestic Cylinder (LPG)
- 18% GST on commercial use cylinders
- The GST Council has not made any changes on the LPG cylinder, so its prices will remain unchanged.
Why 18% GST on commercial cylinders?
Commercial LPG cylinders are used for business, such as hotels and restaurants, so they have 18% GST.
What things will be cheaper?
Many major decisions were taken at the GST Council meeting held on 3 September. The GST Council led by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reduced the GST rate on items like Daily Essential commodities (FMCG), healthcare products, education materials, electronic goods, agricultural equipment, insurance and automobiles.
