Australian women’s team fined due to a slow over in the match against India

The Australian women’s cricket team was fined 10 percent of the match fee on Friday for a slow over speed in the second one -day international against India in Mullangpur (Chandigarh). Australia lost by 102 runs in the second ODI on Wednesday, which was his biggest defeat in terms of runs.

Australia had reduced two overs within the stipulated time for which GS Lakshmi, the match referee of the International Cricket Council (ICC), imposed the fine on her.

The ICC said in a statement, “Players and players are fined five percent of the match fee to reduce each over on the slow over speed of the ICC Code of Conduct for the staff. Australia has accepted the fine and hence a formal hearing was not required. ”

The charge was made by plain umpire Vrinda Rathi and Janani Narayanan, third umpire Lauren Aagenbag and fourth umpire Gayatri Venugopalan. The third and decisive match of the 3 ODI series between the women’s teams of India and Australia will be played on Saturday.

Talking about the second match of the series held on Wednesday, Vice -captain Smriti Mandhana scored the second fastest ODI of an Indian women batsman. The Indian team defeated Australia by 102 runs to make the three-match series 1–1. For the first batting, the left -handed batsman Mandhana scored 117 off 91 balls for India, including 14 fours and four sixes. He completed his century in just 77 balls. Due to which the hosts scored their highest score by 292 runs.

After this, despite leaving several catches, the hosts registered a big win by dismissing Australia for 190 in 40.5 overs. This was the first time in history that the Australian team dominating the world lost by 100 or more runs.

Earlier, Mandhana completed his century in 77 balls. The record of the fastest century of a female batsman in India is also his name. He completed a 70 -ball century against Ireland in January this year in Rajkot.
