With this, he did something that till date no female superstar from Asia could do. Smriti has done different wonders by her innings in the ODI series against Australia.
A century scored against Australia
In the second ODI international between Australia and India, Smriti Mandhana gave a bang. Mandhana scored 100 runs in 77 balls. With this, she has succeeded in scoring the second fastest ODI century in Indian Women’s Cricket History. His name is also on the first place. He had earlier scored a century in 70 balls in Rajkot against the women’s team of Ireland. He continued his brilliant performance even after this. In the 33rd over of Team India’s innings, Smriti was caught out of Tahlia McGrath. With this, he ended his innings by scoring 117 runs in 91 balls. He hit a total of 4 sixes and 14 fours.
Smriti becomes the first woman to score 15 centuries
Smriti Mandhana has created history with a century against Australia. She has become the first female cricketer in Asia to score 15 centuries in international cricket. He scored 2 centuries in another T20 and 2 centuries in T20. She scored the 12th century in ODIs and with this she has scored 15 for India in international cricket. No other Asian women have been able to do this feat. Before the World Cup, he will get confidence with this century.
A few steps away from becoming number 1 in the world
Smriti Mandhana has scored the 12th century of ODI career and she has now come in the fourth position in the list of players scoring the most ODI centuries in women’s cricket. On top is Meg Lanning, who has crossed the 100 mark 15 times. Number 1 can be made in this list by scoring some more centuries.
