Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, several schemes are being run by the Government of Chhattisgarh for the betterment of workers and their families. Through these schemes, financial assistance is being provided to them continuously for the upliftment of the social and economic status of the workers. In this connection, about 7.3 lakh construction workers have been registered by the Department of Labor and the beneficial Labor Department under Chhattisgarh Bhawan and other construction workers welfare board from January 01, 2024 to September 15, 2025 and about 8.39 lakh workers have been benefited through schemes run from 2024 to 15 September 2025, on which about 535.62 crore rupees have been made.

It is noteworthy that a new initiative has been started under the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and the guidance of Labor Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan for unorganized workers. The Umbrella Scheme ‘Atal Labor Empowerment Scheme’ has been launched for the overall development of unorganized workers and their families. In the first phase, 5 states will be built in Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Orissa, Gujarat and Maharashtra, where a large number of workers migrate in the first phase to provide cooperation and guidance to migrant workers. Apart from this, contracts have been made with 106 private hospitals to provide cashless treatment facility to workers. This will give them treatment facility in Super Specialty Hospital for heart disease, kidney disease, brain disease, complex surgery etc.

Similarly, the ‘Umbrella Scheme Atal Labor Empowerment Scheme’ of Labor Department has been started by the state government. Due to this, workers and their families will get the benefit of all the schemes of the government at one place, for this ‘Shramev Jayate’ portal has been created. A new scheme is being launched soon to give grants in interest on loans taken from the bank for economic activity by registered workers so that they can move towards becoming the owner themselves. Apart from this, a divisional level labor welfare office is being established in every division of the state for better implementation and sustainable monitoring of schemes run for the welfare of unorganized workers.

The Labor Department is running the Chief Minister’s Labor Resource Center in the district level and all the development blocks in every district of the state for early resolving and assistance of the problems of Chief Minister Labor Resources Center workers. Under the Mukhyamantri Labor Resource Center Scheme, 94,300 construction workers have been supported in the application of registration/renewal/schemes from 01 January 2024 to September 15, 2025.
A self-declaration certificate for registration of construction workers under Chhattisgarh Building and other construction workers welfare board, while simplifying the process of registration of construction workers under Chhattisgarh Bhawan and other constituent worker welfare board, a provision has been made for the sanctioning letter to be employed from workers in place of planning certificate from the employer to work under the contractor or employer. Due to the said simplification, there has been a facility in registering workers.

Under the Chief Minister’s Construction Workers Housing Assistance Scheme Chhattisgarh Bhawan and other construction workers welfare board, a lump sum assistance is being provided for the construction of their own housing and housing for the construction of their own housing and housing. From January 01, 2024 to September 15, 2025, 1042 construction workers have been provided grant assistance for the construction of new housing/housing.

From January 01, 2024 to September 15, 2025, 7478 sons/daughters of construction workers have been provided Rs 10 crore 14 lakh 49 thousand 614.

The maternity assistance scheme has benefited 65 thousand 010 women’s construction workers under the ‘Minimata Mahtari Jatan Yojana’ run by Chhattisgarh Bhavan and other construction workers welfare board from January 01, 2024 to September 15, 2025. Shaheed Veeranarayan Singh Shram Ann Yojana is being given hot and got -and -beauty in 05 rupees under the said Veeranarayan Singh Shram Ann Yojana. In the event of 31 December 2023, 29 meal centers were operated, which has increased to 37 food centers in 17 districts at present. On January 01, 2024 to September 15, 2025, 11,35,362 units of food (mill) registered and unorganized workers have been provided, in which Rs 52,865,395 has been spent by Chhattisgarh Bhawan and other construction workers’ welfare board.

There is a provision to give an amount of one lakh rupees to the successor of the Chief Minister Nirman Labor Death and Divyang Assistance Scheme, an amount of Rs 5 lakh to his successor at the death of an accident at the work site and an amount of Rs. 5 lakh to the laborer for permanent disability at the work site. Under this, a total of 3658 dependents of 3658 construction workers have been benefited from 01 January 2024 to September 15, 2025.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai transferred the amount on 17 September 2024 through DBT. The Labor Department organized a state level labor conference and the construction workers registered under various schemes operated under Chhattisgarh Bhawan and other construction workers welfare boards. Construction workers registered by Chhattisgarh Bhawan and other construction workers welfare board have been benefited from 6 lakh 48 thousand 633 registered construction workers in 16 schemes from September 17, 2024, from Rs 327 crore 13 lakh 53 thousand 108 rupees.
