Accused of exploitation while staying in rented house
According to the information, Yakub Memon Tikrapara was in charge of police station in the year 2020-21. During that time the victim lived with her husband in her house for rent. The woman alleges that Memon intimidated her and forcibly made physical relations when she was outside her husband. The woman complained to the Raipur police officers, but the FIR was not registered.
FIR lodged after complaint from IG
In Raipur, the woman, who was not getting justice, reached Surguja IG directly from her house in Naya Raipur. Here he lodged a detailed complaint and also threatened to commit suicide for not getting justice. In view of the seriousness of the case, Surguja IG directed to file an FIR immediately and transfer the case diary to Raipur. Now the Tikrapara police will record the statement of the woman and further investigate.
Serious allegations on respected officer
Yakub Memon was admitted to the police service in the year 1998. He started his career from Rewa and Satna districts of undivided Madhya Pradesh. After the formation of Chhattisgarh, he was posted in Naxal -affected areas like Bastar, Dantewada, Bijapur, Narayanpur and Rajnandgaon. He was awarded the President’s Medal in 2016 and a commendable service medal of the President in 2021 for his contribution to Naxal abolition.
