Madhya Pradesh: Imam from Bihar staying in the mosque, FIR is done, Owaisi said read SP Article-19

Action in MP on Bihar’s Imam

A Imam was coming from Bihar in a mosque in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. Now the police has registered an FIR on the Imam. Actually, the police has taken this action because the Imam was stopped in the mosque without notice. After this, the police registered a case against the Sadar and Imam of the mosque on 9 September after stopping the Imam without giving information.

After getting information about this case, the statement of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi came out. Owaisi said, SP should read Article-19.

Owaisi remembers Article-19

Owaisi posted a video on social media and said that this step of Khandwa police is unconstitutional. The SP of Khandwa needs to read Article-19 of the Constitution. After all, how has it been a crime to hold the Imam from Bihar in the mosque? Owaisi said that Article 19 of the Constitution is 19 fundamental rights. Asked the question to the SP, he said, SP’s SP Sahab should tell whether Section 223 of BNS is big or Article 19 of the Constitution 19? There is only a Muslim, that’s why you are booking the case how to come from outside.

Police told why action was taken

Now the argument of the police has also come to light in this case. Khandwa police say that this action has been taken under the rules. SP Manoj Kumar Rai made it clear that it is mandatory to give information to the police before the external persons are accommodated. The orders of the District Magistrate were violated in this case. The information that was staying in the mosque of Imam Khandwa in Bihar was not given to the nearest police station. Due to this, a case was registered against Sadar Haji Hanif Khan of the mosque and Akhtar Raza, resident of Bihar, under Section 188 (disregard of government order).

What did SP say?

In the case, the SP said, action has been taken under the rules. SP Manoj Kumar Rai said, Section 144 is applicable in the district, meanwhile it was mandatory that the information of outsiders was to be known to the police station concerned. This was a normal thing. But despite this, people do not inform who the person who came from outside has stayed with them.
