The SIT of Meghalaya Police filed a 790 -page charge sheet against wife Sonam Raghuvanshi, lover Raj Kushwaha and three others in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case. The police have made allegations of murder, conspiracy and erasing evidence. This case is related to the sensational incident during honeymoon which shook the entire country.
The Special Investigation Team of Meghalaya Police (SIT) has taken a big step in the Raja (Raghuwanshi Murder case) of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi murder case and filed a 790 -page charge sheet in the court. In this charge sheet, the victim’s wife Sonam Raghuvanshi, her lover Raj Kushwaha and three others- Akash Rajput, Anand Kurmi and Vishal Singh Chauhan have been accused.

Murdered during honeymoon
According to the police, Sonam conspired to kill her husband Raja during a honeymoon on 23 May. Sonam and Raj were already in a love affair. Raj was an accountant in his family’s furniture business while Sonam handled the business. Despite the marriage, Sonam’s relationship continued with Raj and due to this, the murder was planned.
The accused have been booked under murder (Section 103 i), Eradication of evidence (Section 238A) and Criminal Conspiracy (Section 61 (2)). The five accused are in judicial custody. At the same time, the police said that after receiving additional forensic report, a supplementary charge sheet will also be filed against property dealer Silome James, building owner Lokendra Tomar and guard Balbir Ahirbar. All three are out on bail.
Confessed to killing husband
The case was initially revealed as a “missing couple”. After marriage on May 11, Raja and Sonam reached Meghalaya for honeymoon. On May 23, the two went missing after leaving the homestay of Nongariyat village. On June 2, the body of the king was found while Sonam surfaced in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh on 8 June and surrendered. She later confessed to killing her husband.
