Along with Punjab in India, Punjab of Pakistan is also facing floods. In the last two weeks, 37 lakh people have become homeless due to floods in Punjab, Pakistan, after which the government of Pakistan and many organizations are working for rescue and assistance. Jamaat-ud-Dawa is also included in these rescue workers.
Jamaat-ud-Dawa is a radical Islamic organization considered to be the branch of Lashkar-e-Taiba. The group has been held responsible for the 2008 attack on Mumbai. Its prominent is India’s Wanted Hafiz Saeed. The organization said that its 2 thousand members are working for flood relief in the north-west and Punjab provinces of the country.
In a photo released by the Pakistan Markji Muslim League (PMML), considered the new face of Saeed’s banned groups, on Thursday, along with members of the Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Nasir Group of Faisalabad, they are seen riding on a boat while visiting flood affected areas of the district.
Maryam Nawaz’s party did not comment
There was no official statement about the visit of Nasir in flood affected areas with the PMML team led by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. But many people are assuming that through this Hafiz Saeed is engaged in gathering sympathy.
India broke the group’s waist in Operation Sindoor
Hafiz Saeed is a terrorist announced by the United Nations on which the US placed a reward of US $ 1 million. He has been lodged in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail since he was arrested in a case of terrorism in July 2019.
Under Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army had targeted the base of Lashkar-e-Taiba at Muridke. Three Jamaat-ud-Dawa activists were killed in this attack and senior officials of the Pakistani Army, Police and Civil Bureaucracy attended their funeral.
