TV actor Ashish Kapoor has been arrested by Delhi Police from Pune, Maharashtra on charges of rape. The victim alleged that Ashish raped her in the washroom during a house party in Delhi in the second week of August. The police registered a case in this case. The first FIR had names of Ashish, his friend, friend’s wife and two unknown people. However, the victim later changed the statement and said that only Ashish Kapoor raped her.
After registering a case in this case, the police started searching for Ashish. Police said that first it was found that the accused is in Goa, then it was found that he is in Pune. However, the police had sent teams at both places. He was finally arrested from Pune.
Both met on Instagram
According to Delhi Police, the victim met Ashish on the social media platform Instagram. According to the allegation, Ashish later called the victim to her friend’s house party where the incident of rape with her. The victim also claimed that the incident was videographed, but the police have not received any such video yet.
Friend and wife get anticipatory bail
On August 21, Ashish’s friend and his wife had applied for anticipatory bail, which was approved. The victim was also present in the court during the hearing. A police officer involved in the investigation of the case said that the investigation of the CCTV footage and the statement of eyewitnesses has revealed that the victim and the accused had gone to the washroom during the party. When both did not come out in a while, his friends and other guests started knocking on the door.
Meanwhile, a debate started between the group, which continued till the gate of the society. The victim has claimed that Ashish Kapoor’s friend’s wife attacked her there. According to the police, the wife of Ashish Kapoor’s friend made a PCR call.
