Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai reviews Water Resources Department
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai expressed deep resentment over the breakdown of Lutti Dam located in Balrampurramanuj Ganj district. He warned in strong words that such a mistake in future will not be tolerated in any situation. CM Sai said that the field officers and employees are not doing regular inspection by going to the field, due to which this situation has been created.
He instructed all the officers and employees to continuously go to the field to continuously inspect other structures including dams.
Intensive review meeting of Water Resources Department
Chief Minister Sai today took a thorough review meeting of the Water Resources Department at the Ministry Mahanadi Bhavan. He gave necessary guidelines regarding the maintenance and repair of irrigation projects, waterlogging capacity of all dams, current irrigation status and progress of upcoming projects etc. Along with this, instructions were also given to strictly follow the Dam Safety Act 2021 and to establish effective coordination with the district administration.
Emphasis on incomplete schemes of Bastar-Sarguja division
In the meeting, Chief Minister Sai instructed to formulate a concrete action plan to reduce the difference between targeted irrigation capacity and real irrigation capacity. He especially emphasized on completing the incomplete schemes of Bastar and Surguja divisions and timely completion of large projects under construction, so that farmers can get the benefit of the schemes on time.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Chief Minister’s Secretary Rahul Bhagat, Chief Minister’s Joint Secretary Ravi Mittal, Water Resources Department Secretary Rajesh Sukumar Toppo, Chief Engineer Indrajit Uike and Chief Engineer of Bastar, Surguja, Bilaspur, Raipur and Chief Engineer of Durg Mandals and Water Resources Department officials were present.
