Kapil Parmar, who illuminated the name of India in France Paralympics last year, has decided to return the Arjuna Award. He says that the state government did not give him a job. Parmar Para-Judo is a player. He won a bronze medal in France. He created history by winning the first Paralympic medal for India in Judo. Apart from Parmar, the country’s major water sports athlete, Prachi Yadav has also accused the government of not giving jobs. However, he has not yet decided to return his Arjuna award. Both players received the Arjuna Award in 2024.
Government accused of promise
Kapil Parmar said on Tuesday that the state government had promised him a job. Madhya Pradesh Sports Department says that his job request is in the process. The job will be given after appropriate investigation. Parmar says that during Shivraj Singh Chauhan being the Chief Minister, he was promised to give him a government job and Rs 1 crore.
DSP post was offered
Parmar has said that the whole matter has been suppressed. I was promised to give a government job and Rs 1 crore when Shivraj Singh Chauhan was the Chief Minister. The promise was as DSP. I got 50 lakh rupees, and never got a job. For the last one month, I have been trying to meet the authorities, but no one calls me. Nobody invites me to government programs. They only take pictures with us when we win medals and leave us at times of our need.
Who is Kapil Parmar
Born in Sehore, Parmar lost his vision in an electric shock in 2009. His father, who belonged to a middle -class family, worked as a taxi driver while his eldest brother was posted as a home guard. His second brother helps Parmar’s training. Kapil Parmar won a bronze medal in the 2024 Paralympics. He won the first Paralympic medal for India in Judo. He also won the gold medal in the 2019 Commonwealth Championship, gold medal in 2023 Grand Prix, bronze medal in 2023 World Games and silver medal in 2022 Asian Para Games.
