Madhuri Dikshat started working in films only after taking the 12th class exam. Then he was 16 to 17 years old. His first film ‘Abodh’ was released in the year 1984. But, she did not want to come to films. Madhuri wanted to make a career in another field.
If not an actress, what did Madhuri want to become?
Madhuri Dixit wanted to serve people by becoming a doctor. He dreamed of becoming a doctor before appearing in films. However, luck had something else approved. While schooling in school, Rajshree Production offered him his film ‘Abodh’. Madhuri also accepted this offer.
Family was against becoming an actress
Madhuri’s family also did not want to see her as an actress. When he expressed his desire to work in the film while schooling, his family did not agree to it. It is said that then the people of Rajshri Production called Madhuri’s parents to their office and explained them well. Finally, the parents of the actress agreed and thus got entry in Hindi cinema.
Long wait for stardom
Madhuri’s first picture ‘Abodh’ was badly beaten at the box office. After this, films like ‘Swati’, ‘Human Murder’, ‘Himajat’ and ‘North South’ also happened. Madhuri’s first hit film was ‘Dayawan’. In which he worked with late 22 years older actor Vinod Khanna. But, as a star, he was established by the 1988 film ‘Tezaab’. In this, she got engulfed in the industry with her acting as well as dance.
