In Balrampur district of Chhattisgarh, due to heavy rains, Dhanesh village, near the headquarters, broke the 40 -year -old Lutia dam on Tuesday night. Three houses under the dam were completely damaged. At the same time, a total of eight people sleeping at home and 30 more cows, bulls and cattle were washed away during the night in the flood. The injured are treated in the district hospital

Villagers said that there was a lot of water leakage on this dam for the last three-four years. It is surrounded by forest and mountains.

Villagers said that during the rainy days, water is full here. Due to fear of breaking the dam, the Water Resources Department was given several applications that the dam should be repaired, but the department did not take any initiative of any kind. Villagers alleged that sun 1976-77 This dam was built in, but the quality was not given even a little attention. This was the reason that such a big incident has happened.

Collector and SP reached the spot

As soon as the news of the dam breakdown, the collector and SP of the district immediately reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Then the team of NDRF was called immediately. The rescue and rescue campaign was then launched. Along with this, immediate arrangements for relief materials, food and drink were made for the families affected by dam breakdown. At present, the district administration team still has opportunities with the rescue team.

At the same time, the families affected by the incident allege that the district administration has made arrangements to stay in the panchayat building only. There is no other kind of system. Regarding the whole matter, the SDM says that arrangements have been made to live and eat and drink of the affected families. There has been loss of mauses.
