7 people flowed due to breaking Lutti reservoir in Balrampur in Chhattisgarh; Found the corpse of 4, search for 3


Lutti reservoir in Balrampur district broke on Tuesday night. Due to the breakdown of the reservoir, two houses located under it were hit. A total of seven people were swept away with six people from the same family. Of these, the body of 4 has been recovered.

Among the dead is mother -in -law and two daughter -in -law and a child. A villager with 2 children of this family is yet to be ascertained. The incident caused a ruckus in the village. Balrampur Collector Rajendra Katara, Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Banker along with police and administration officials reached the spot at night. Rescue work is going on since morning. A large number of villagers are looking for missing people.

The reservoir was constructed in the year 1980 – 81 by the Water Resources Department in village Dhaneshpur of Gram Panchayat Vishramnagar in Balrampur district. In the reservoir surrounded by a mountain on two sides, the water of the drain comes from one side. There was a seepage in the reservoir 10–12 years ago. It was repaired during that time.

Water Resources Department did not pay attention

The lower part of the reservoir is the house of a villager named Ramvriksha. Nearby, another person kept the house of Bathan and Kutcha. The reservoir was filled with continuous rains for the last few days. Since Tuesday morning, there was a mild water leakage from one part of the reservoir. Due to non -monitoring from the Water Resources Department, this information could not reach the high officials.

In the evening it rained again and water pressure in the reservoir increased, then a part was damaged. The water of the reservoir started flowing downwards. Due to this, Ramvriksha’s house was hit by floods at a distance of about 300 meters. Ramvriksha was awake. Due to the loud voice, he probably went to see the cattle, so somehow escaped but his wife, two daughter-in-law, three grandchildren were swept away. The entire house was hit by floods.

Officers reached the spot

Near this, a villager had made a bath to keep cattle. There was also a raw house. This house and bath also got hit by the water of the reservoir. Late night, the villagers created an atmosphere of chaos as soon as the incident came to know about the incident. On the information of the district panchayat member Dheeraj Singh Dev, the Collector, the Superintendent of Police along with the entire administrative staff and hundreds of villagers gathered at the scene on the night.

2 children and villagers missing

Rescue and relief work was started from night itself. So far the body of the woman and her two daughter -in -law has been recovered. The body of another child was recovered on Wednesday morning. While nothing of 2 children and villagers could be known. The villagers along with the administrative team are still engaged in a search operation. In this incident, 40 to 50 goats – goat and Go dynasty have also been washed away.

People feared to flow in Kanhar river

The villagers said that the Kanhar river has passed near near. The flood water has gone into the Kanhar river. It is likely that the flowing people would have gone to the Kanhar river. The villagers said that Ramvriksha was also hurt. He has been admitted to the district hospital. His two sons Rosie have gone to a state of the south due to employment. They were not at home at night. There is a crowd of villagers since morning. All are searching for children and villagers missing from their level.
