Australian players have gained an edge in the new released list of ICC men’s ODI player rankings while Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma topped the batting rankings. Although Australia suffered a 2–1 series defeat against South Africa at home ground, the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup winning team gained the lead in the latest ranking after a stunning win in the final match of the series in McKay.
The Australian team scored a huge score of 431/2 in this 50 -over match, with their three batsmen Travis Head (142), Mich Marsh (100) and Cameron Green (118 not out) scored centuries. As a result, the trio gained a good lead in the ODI batsmen ranking, in which the head climbed one place to 11th, Marsh climbed four places to 44th position and Green climbed up 40 places to 78th.
His partner of the Australian team Josh England has also made it to the list of ODI batsmen. In the second match of the series against South Africa, this right -handed batsman has reached 64th position with a reform of 23 places thanks to an innings of 87 runs. The Indian pair Shubman Gill (784 rating points) and Rohit Sharma (756) are at the top of the ODI batsmen, while Pakistan’s right -handed batsman Babar Azam (739) is among the top three.
